Weekend Programs for Youth Groups
(Available mid-September through May)

Traditional Weekend Program has been a favorite at Ranch for many years and serves young people from all over Southern California. The program can accommodate small youth groups as well as youth groups of up to 100. The program includes a 2 night stay at the ranch with 6 meals, classes in animal and horse science, vaulting (gymnastics on horseback), riding instruction (3 sessions), animal care time, plus evening activities and campfire. The traditional weekend program ends with a horse/animal show in which all campers participate. Ranch provides all program activities for the Traditional Weekend Program.

The fee for the Traditional Weekend Program is currently $160 per person. Minimum age requirement is 7 years of age. We are currently taking names on a waiting list for any openings that may occur on the 2004/2005 calendar. We will begin taking reservations for 2006 weekends by mail on February 1st, 2005. Teepee Village Program is available to youth groups ranging in size from ~16 to 52 participants. The program includes 2 nights lodging in the Teepee Village, 4 meals, archery instruction, craft class, and Saturday evening campfire. The group will also ride horses in our riding arena for approximately an hour on Sunday morning. The program includes time in the schedule for self-led activities that you will add to enhance your group’s experience. (For example, a Girl Scout troop recently took advantage of the Teepee Village Program to work on their video production badge, combining their own pre-planned badge activities with our program activities, using various venues around the ranch as backdrops for their video.)

Red River Mining Camp is now ready for groups of up to 136 participants. The area is perfect for retreat groups looking for a quiet and rustic setting. The weekend includes a 2-night stay at Red River that is a newly renovated tent camping area offering a magnificent view of the ranch below as well as the surrounding grove areas. Campers will enjoy the new platform tents as well as the new bunk beds & mattresses. A new restroom/shower facility also services the area. Don’t worry about spending time with meal preparation and clean up; included in the program are 4 meals prepared by Ranch’s full-time professional kitchen staff. The housing area is adjacent to several areas that can be reserved for your group’s self-led activities. Each group provides all of their own programming.

Fee for the Red River Mining Camp is currently $65 per person. Suggested minimum age is 7. Spring/fall dates are still available.

*All youth groups making a weekend reservation must be covered by their sponsoring organization’s liability insurance. A copy of the certificate must be provided to Ranch.
